With constant innovation in the building materials industry, Wood Plastic Composites (WPC) has been developed in recent years as a new type of materials to improve durability. WPC is considered new materials relative to the long history of natural lumber as building material. It is a material manufactured from a unique blend of natural wood and plastic fibers. Sawdust, pulp, bamboo, peanut hulls and unused woodworking materials are added together with plastic powder to form WPC. As WPC is created from a substance that starts as a paste, it can be moulded to almost any shape and size, including arched or bent shapes. That flexibility is extended to colour as well- WPC can be dyed or coloured to suit almost any design scheme. In the flooring industry, WPCs is a type of floor that has a basic structure of top vinyl veneer plus a rigid extruded core. The usage of WPC is more environmentally friendly and requires less maintenance than the alternatives of solid wood treated with preservatives or solid wood of rot-resistant species.

The innovative wood plastic composite DIY deck tiles system from Truwoods is easy to install. It consists of tiles that can be quickly attach together to form a neat look. The tiles have an anti-slip surface and the base is made from recycled polypropylene (PP) UV resistant material.
